Dear Preschool Parents,

We have had three very busy months of school! The preschoolers have learned a lot already – and had fun in the process. We will continue our studies this coming month, but will add in a good amount of holiday fun!

During our preparations for Thanksgiving we shared with each other the things for which we are thankful. We have talked about our families and that we are blessed with God’s gifts. Our chapel service on Wednesday was truly a Celebration of Thanks by all the children of the school.

Our Thanksgiving Feast was great fun! Thank you to all the parents who contributed the wonderful food. Thank you also to those parents that gave their time to make the day special. We decorated the tables and ate “family style”. The children enjoyed the atmosphere and said a blessing before eating the delicious meal.

This month we will talk about Jesus as God’s greatest gift to us. We will hear several versions of the Christmas story, work on some Christmas decorations, prepare for our party and learn that service to others in need is our gift back to God. Please help your child by having him/her bring in a few new toys for a child in need. Each student will share the toys with the class and place them in our collection box for the Salvation Army.

Our Christmas party is on Thursday, December 15th. The party will consist of a chapel service with a special performance by the elementary children, a visit from Santa, a fun snack, and a gift exchange. Here in the preschool we ask that each boy bring a boy gift and each girl bring a girl gift. The present should be a toy that their friend would enjoy and should cost at least $15.00. We would like the gifts to be wrapped and arrive at school to be placed under the classroom Christmas tree. Please have your child’s exchange gift at school no later than December 12th.

We will have a special snack with our Christmas party. A sign up sheet will be posted for party contributions.

School will be out for Christmas vacation from Friday, December 16th through Tuesday, January 3rd. The preschool will be open Friday, December 16th and Monday, December 19th through Friday, December 23rd for those children enrolled in our full-time daycare program. There will be no daycare from December 26th through January 2nd.

Your preschool staff hopes that you and your child thoroughly enjoy the Christmas season and have a very Happy New Year!
